OPEN, or the Organization of Pakistani Entrepreneurs is a voluntary not-for-profit association dedicated to the promotion of entrepreneurship. OPEN Karachi organized Elevator Pitch Competition at ITCH Asia 2012, held at Karachi Expo Center, Karachi, Pakistan.
The judges panel include Dr. Zakiuddin Ahmed, Ma’am Marriam Ahmed (CEO 3sixtyMS, Gen. Secretary EC, OPEN Karahci), Professor Erum Abbasi (President – Mare Solutions), Mr. Sulaiman Faroqi (VP Kalsoft), and Mr. Ashraf Kapadia (Chairman OPEN).
Our team, me (Software Engineer) and Hassan Parvez (Bio-medical Engineer) presented an app idea called “Tele-Doctor” in Elevator Pitch Competition organized by OPEN (Karachi Chapter) at ITCN Asia 2012; and we won 3rd prize (2nd Runner up).
Tele-Doctor will be a smart phone app. Its basic application is to educate the user about the emergency training at home or anywhere. It will work on artificial intelligence.
This app will consist of two major operations:
I. Detect the affected (injured) area and display its treatment, what should be done and what should be not.
II. Find the current location of the user (through GPS) and locate nearest hospitals and doctor within 5-10 km in range.
This app will require the use of cell-phone’s camera, GPS and Wi-Fi connection. The user will take a picture of the injured area using two modes; assisted and non-assisted.
This app will be useful for every person in case of emergency. For example while playing cricket when a ball hits a child’s head, a female cuts her finger while slicing a carrot, or a man slips from stairs and his knees start bleeding; instead of being blank and not knowing what should be done to the injured person, one can easily find the best treatment and locate the nearby doctor/hospital though this app.
